Whether you’re a newbie or a pro, our website has tips and tricks to enhance your experience. In this blog, we are going to talk about how to use your essential oil diffuser. So, if you want to learn more - keep reading!

  1. Once you have found the perfect diffuser, the first step is to set it up. This won’t take long, but is definitely the most important step! Find an area in the corner of a room, near an electrical socket. Place the diffuser onto a flat surface, and make sure there’s nothing around it that could be damaged by water or oil particles.
  2. Next, fill the diffuser with water. All diffusers are different, but most will have a line or stick inside showing where to fill it up to. If you live in an area with very hard water, it might be best to use distilled water or filter it, as harder water tends to leave a residue of Calcium and Magnesium carbonates behind. In areas with softer water, these minerals can actually be healthy to have in the air!
  3. Now you have the best part: adding your oils. It might take you a while to find your favourite blends, but that is all part of the fun! It is generally agreed to add around 5 drops of oil to 100ml of water - but remember that some diffusers might hold more or less than that.
  4. Lastly, just turn your diffuser on! Again, each one will be different, but many have a button on the front that you press once or twice depending on your preferred setting. For example, our favourite diffuser has just one button, which you press once to turn on constant mist, twice to turn on intermittent mist and three times to turn off again.

Once your diffuser is up and running, just sit back, relax and wait for the aroma to transport you to paradise!

It is generally agreed that 30-60 minuted of intermittent diffusion is the ideal length of time to use your essential oil diffuser at any one time. If you are pregnant, very old or young or have any medical conditions, make sure you check with your doctor before beginning to use any essential oil.

Essential oils work differently with everybody, so don’t be disheartened if you can’t find your perfect blend straight away. Keep trying out new blends and use our website for information whenever you need. Most importantly, remember that all diffusers are different, so always follow the instructions on the diffuser’s packaging.
